St. Peter’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School, St. Thomas Mount, follows a transparent and structured admission process to ensure fairness and academic standards. Admissions are granted based on eligibility, availability of seats, and compliance with school and government regulations.

Admission Overview

Admissions are open for LKG to XII Standard as per the norms prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Education Department. The school welcomes students who demonstrate academic readiness, discipline, and a willingness to uphold the values of the institution.

Admissions are subject to:
  • Availability of seats

  • Fulfilment of eligibility criteria

  • Submission of required documents

  • Successful completion of entrance assessment where applicable

Eligibility Criteria

 

LKG Admission
  • The child must have completed 3 years of age on or before 31st May of the academic year.

 

UKG to IX & XI Admission
  • Admission is subject to academic performance and availability of seats.

  • Students must meet the age and academic criteria prescribed for the respective class.

Entrance Test Details

  • An entrance test is conducted in the month of May for admissions to UKG to IX and XI Standard.

  • The test assesses basic subject knowledge, comprehension, and academic readiness.

  • Admission decisions are made based on entrance test performance and previous academic records.

Documents Required

Parents/Guardians must submit the following documents at the time of admission:

  • Birth Certificate

  • Student and Parent Aadhaar Card

  • Ration Card

  • Passport-size photographs of the student

  • Original Transfer Certificate (TC)

  • Community Certificate

  • Previous year academic records (where applicable)

Transfer Certificate Rules

  • No student will be admitted without submitting the original Transfer Certificate from the previous school.

  • For students coming from schools outside Tamil Nadu, the Transfer Certificate must be countersigned by the Inspector of Schools.

  • Transfer Certificates will be issued by the school only upon a written request from the parent or guardian and after clearing all dues.

Important Note
  • Admission once granted is final, subject to compliance with school rules and academic conduct.

  • Submission of false information or incomplete documents may result in cancellation of admission.
